Vajta Gypsy Ministry

[James 1:27 NKJV] 27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, [and] to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

15 years ago when the plan to purchase and renovate the Zichy-Kastély began in Vajta it was never about just a building but also a foothold for the gospel. Since it opened, the Kastély has become a launching pad for students and staff to all corners of the world. Beyond our mandate to reach the end of the earth, we have always felt a similar command to not neglect the opportunities right on our doorstep.

It has taken many years of relationships, friendships, and partnerships to break up the hard ground of this little village. Years of prayer and sowing seeds have slowly produced a harvest of believers young and old.

Vajta is home to a community of believers. Some have been connected to the bible college and conference center while others are widows, orphans, gypsies, the outcast, and downcast who have been reached by the faithful witness of a servant’s heart and helping hands.

[Act 6:3 NKJV] 3 “Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of [good] reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business;

Over the past few years, we saw the need to commit a weekly emphasis to disciple and water these seeds that have grown. Orsos Imre began taking on the daily responsibility of serving this community. It sometimes looks like hosting prayer meetings and bible studies, while other times it looks like providing food, clothes, and medicine for those not able to help themselves. Often found chopping firewood, cleaning houses, or tutoring children, this faithful, Spirit-filled servant is pouring out his heart and resources into the lives in Vajta.

As the school moved from Vajta to Budapest, we made a prayerful decision to support this work that He has begun and continued to the ministry to the village of Vajta.

This support page is our tool to allow those who the Lord calls to come alongside this ministry in Vajta. All support is used for the work of the ministry in the village. These funds will support Imre as well as the many families, widows, orphans, and gypsies to whom he is weekly reaching out. As a pastor, friend, and overseer I can personally testify to the changed lives and ongoing need in Vajta. It is our desire to see this small community continue to thrive, especially in the absence of the bible college. We are asking those who like to partner with us in to ask the Lord how He wants to use you in completing this work He has begun. We are asking you to prayerfully consider coming along side us as we support the life-changing ministry happening in Vajta, Hungary.
